Commissioner Micaela Cronin explains the DFSV Commission’s Yearly Report 2026

In September 2026, Micaela Cronin, Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) Commissioner, hosted a webinar bringing together participants from across the sector to explore the findings and recommendations of the DFSV Commission’s Yearly Report to Parliament 2026.

The webinar provided insights into how the DFSV Commission developed the report, drawing on its recently released Monitoring and Reporting Framework, the advice of its Lived Experience Advisory Council, and the voices of hundreds of stakeholders engaged through Second Action Plan consultations and DFSV Commission roundtables. These engagements helped shape the report’s assessment of progress under the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022–2032 and identify areas requiring greater attention.

Commissioner Cronin outlined the Commission’s vision for measuring success in ending gender-based violence and spoke to the report’s eight priority recommendations for the next phase of reform, including strengthening prevention efforts, improving government systems, investing in recovery and safety, enhancing accountability, and addressing persistent challenges within justice, family law and sexual violence responses.

Watch the webinar to learn more about the DFSV Commission’s advice for accelerating progress towards ending domestic, family and sexual violence in Australia.
