Acknowledgement of people with lived experience
The Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Commission (the DFSV Commission) acknowledges the expertise of people with lived and living experience of domestic, family and sexual violence.
The DFSV Commission also recognises that children and young people experience domestic, family and sexual violence as victims in their own right, with unique perspectives and needs.
We honour the courage shown by people sharing these experiences, and the powerful role these insights play in addressing the full picture of domestic, family and sexual violence.
Only by listening to those who have experienced violence and the systems that respond to it can we hope to improve things.
